This is a one of a kind, extremely versatile, registered, 11-year old, bay Canadian mare who has been bred for an April 2018 foal. Sylvie stands 15.3hh. She is healthy and sound and has never been injured or lame – except for an eye injury as a baby that left her blind in one eye. She has been blind in that eye her whole life so you don’t even notice and it has not slowed her down or limited her performance ability. Sylvie is a finished ranch horse, spending several years working on a large cattle ranch. She will go over, under, or through anything and is extremely sure footed and careful. I trust her to keep her footing on even the worst terrain. On the ranch Sylvie sorted and moved pairs, roped and tagged anything from baby calves to full grown cows. She is wonderful to rope off of and operates gates like a dream. She has done a bit of casual cutting and will work a cow on her own. She needs a little support on her blind side or she is a little late in her turns, but does very well on her own too. Sylvie has competed and placed in both sorting and penning and is a ton of fun to ride. She is bold, has a gas pedal, but is still very sensible and rideable. Sylvie is very soft, supple and well trained with excellent transitions between any gaits as well as body control. Lateral work is easy for her and she is light and responsive. She has lots of dressage training as well and we have played around with a little jumping (excellent form and a careful jumper).
Sylvie has done many many miles of road riding and is excellent with all types of traffic. She has helped me train/pony countless colts and is my go-to steady horse that I know won’t let me down. Also a proven broodmare and has had 4 outstanding foals (two are shown here to the right). She is an easy breeder and easy foaler and an excellent mom. Up to date on hoof trims, vaccinations, and deworming. Delivery available or transportation can be arranged. Asking $10,000 CAD (firm). Located in Camrose, Alberta.
